Overall difficulty level and exam pattern:
As per the statements made by the students, it’s been observed that the exam this year was pretty easy as compared to JEE Main 2018. According to students, the exam is totally a game of time management. Paper was quite easy and if you were able to manage your time cautiously, you surely would have attempted a good number of questions in the entrance test. As there were a total of 125 questions which were to be solved in 150 minutes. So, if your concepts were clear and you knew the answer, you will be able to solve the complete paper.
In VITEEE 2018, some questions were totally conceptual whereas there were other questions which were based on direct formulas. VITEEE 2018 was all about speed and concepts. Mock tests proved to be really very helpful for the students.
According to Snehal, an engineering aspirant from Noida said that “I would rate VITEEE 2018 as average”. The questions available in the exam were not difficult but they were quite tricky and lengthy. I couldn’t be able to attempt all questions as the time was over.
Section-wise difficulty level
As per many students who appeared for VITEEE 2018, there was not much difference between the difficulty levels of all the three sections in the examination. All sections had a similar difficulty level. One of the students who appeared for the examination in the evening slot said “I realized that the paper was set pretty smartly in which difficult questions were added in the middle of the paper”.
A few aspirants felt that some of the questions in the test paper were out of the syllabus. Shreya Dhyani, an engineering aspirant from Delhi said, “I think some of the questions in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry were out of syllabus. I felt those questions were of B.Sc level. So, I think that the cut off will be slightly lower this year”.
According to one more student, the paper comprised questions which were out of syllabus. According to him, some questions in Physics were too tricky whereas some were straight forward.
So, from the student’s reactions mentioned above, it’s pretty clear that the level of VITEEE 2018 was easy-moderate. A few questions were difficult, whereas most of the questions were direct.
